About RSSready

2005

RSSready, LLC was founded in 2005 by James Clark and Jason Cormier of Room 214, Inc. With James’ background as President of a successful public relations firm, it was obvious to him how PR agencies, and their clients, could benefit from using RSS.

2006

In early 2006, James and Jason boot-strapped an RSS application development effort to build a reputation management system under the name of RSSready. With the application targeting PR agencies as its primary customers, most were slow to accept additional costs to increase the value provided to their clients. After all, who had even heard of “RSS” or “reputation management?”

A month later, James and Jason partnered with Kris Smith, founder of the world’s first podcast production company, Palegroove, to provide podcast production and consulting for Room 214 clients. Kris wrote a software application later in the year (Castlock) to manage an online podcasting magazine – but soon found other successful uses for it with Room 214 clients.

2007

By January of 2007, the three were working full time together and agreed RSSready would be the vehicle for continuing to develop, support and improve the Castlock software. The 9-month effort that ensued resulted in a complete rewrite of the software as an integrated social media publishing and syndication platform -- and the creation of two other RSS software products, RSSignite and Episodr.

2008

As Kris transitioned to Blogtalk Radio, Room 214 acquired a majority ownership of RSSready. Stepan Mazurov assumed the lead technical role, with a greater focus on improved video integration, tracking and usability. In March of 2008, Castlock was re-branded as Post Zinger, and the company's first VP of Sales joined the team.
